Born in Cuba, forged in Europe, and now based in Tampa, Florida — Otaner “Oty” Leiva Ojeda is the heart and soul of Scarborough Bike Law on the ground. A former first-division volleyball player turned ultra-endurance cyclist, Oty brings the same relentless energy to rider advocacy that he brings to the start line.
In 2025, Oty took on the Unbound XL — a 350-mile self-supported gravel race through the Flint Hills of Kansas. We filmed his journey in “The Cowboy Way,” a documentary that captures the grit, suffering, and spirit of ultra-endurance cycling. It was his third attempt at conquering the distance.
With approximately 60 podium finishes, a Gravel World Championship qualification, Everesting (8,000m), and charity rides for cancer patients and children — Oty doesn’t just represent our firm. He embodies our mission: protect cyclists, grow the community, and never stop riding.
